Testers-only beta · Alachua County
What happens after an arrest.
General information about the first 24 hours after an arrest in Gainesville or Alachua County: booking, first appearance, bond, the public defender, phone calls, and commissary. It does not tell you where a particular person is, when they will be released, or what will happen in a case. It does not look up inmates and it does not replace the Sheriff’s roster or VINE. Information, not legal advice.
This is a testers-only beta. To open it you accept testing terms below. Anyone 18 or older can sign up, so the form is not a secure or verified area. It is not run or endorsed by the Sheriff’s Office or any agency. Tell us who you are and the page opens right away. We do not ask what happened, and please do not enter an arrested person’s name or a case number anywhere in the form.
Email is not crisis help. We cannot look into an individual case, and we may not read a message for days. In an emergency call 911. For a mental health crisis call or text 988. To find a person in custody, use the Sheriff’s Office inmate search or VINE.
Information, not legal advice. This page is not a Public Safety Assessment or any risk score.
So we can write back, we keep your name, email, role, and optional organization for up to 180 days. This browser stays signed in to the beta for the same period. Each sign-up is also emailed to our inbox, and those email copies are not deleted automatically; we delete them, and the stored record, when you ask. We send one confirmation email through an email provider that keeps its own delivery records. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated sign-ups; it checks your browser and does not ask you to solve a puzzle. This is not a case file. Email hello@projectjailcell.org to ask us to delete your information.
A question typed into the assistant is sent to an AI service to write the answer. We do not save the question or link it to a person, but it is not private from that service, so do not type names, case numbers, or what happened.
Found something wrong on a page? Email hello@projectjailcell.org with the page and the sentence. You do not need to include anyone’s name or case details.
Este formulario está en inglés. La página de Alachua tiene versión en español, que todavía no ha sido revisada por un hablante nativo. El correo no es una línea de emergencia: en una emergencia llama al 911, o al 988 en una crisis de salud mental.
